The Millbrook Senior Center celebrated the holiday season and the close of another successful year with its annual Christmas party today. This year’s festivities were made even more special by a heartfelt tribute to a beloved community member, Elaine Morgan, who passed away in 2017.

Elaine Morgan’s legacy was honored through a touching gesture by her family. Her grandson, Art Faulkner, recently discovered cases of hand-crocheted items among her belongings. These beautiful, handcrafted pieces were distributed to attendees during the Christmas event, bringing joy and nostalgia to the occasion.

Adding to the festivities, members of the Stanhope Elmore Soccer Team volunteered their time to serve the seniors, fostering a sense of community and support across generations.

Olivia Venable, Director of the Millbrook Senior Center, reflected on the year’s achievements. “This year has been one of our best years. The number of new members we have had shows there’s still a need for our center. We are here to serve the seniors of our community,” Venable said.

The Millbrook Senior Center operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers a full calendar of daily activities. Seniors can enjoy games like Bingo, participate in chair exercises, and much more. A hot lunch is served daily at 11:30 a.m., ensuring members are well-fed and cared for.

The center provides a welcoming space for seniors to socialize, make friends, and stay active. For more information about the Millbrook Senior Center, visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MillbrookSeniorCenter.
