It’s a wrap! BWS Technologies closes out 2024 as the sponsor of the Prattville Chamber of Commerce luncheon with guest speaker Amy Hilliard, Economic Development Director for the City of Prattville.
Each month, community members and local leaders gather for lunch and a featured guest speaker. These luncheons provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss local events, and gain insights from experts on issues impacting the community.
Wednesday’s event opened with an invocation given by Jeremy Jackson, Co-owner of BWS.
Jimmy Morris Jr., Chairman of the Prattville Chamber Board of Directors then took the stage to welcome everyone and announce the Chamber Champions of 2024.
“We are thankful for this month’s sponsor BWS, they have been a chamber member since 1997, ” said Morris.
BWS Co-Owner Bill Youngblood took the stage to express gratitude and introduce the day’s guest speaker. “We are ready to work together with Amy to bring opportunities to 2025 and beyond,” said Youngblood.
Hilliard spoke on the importance of economic development and what economic development looks like for Prattville.
She highlighted the significance of economic development and its impact on Prattville’s growth. She joked that Prattville is known for its “4 Cs: chicken, carwashes, coffee, and churches.” She reiterated that those companies follow growing communities.
Hilliard outlined key factors influencing community appeal, such as education, healthcare, and public safety services. “Prattville has an ISO rating of 1, and that’s so great for our community,” she said, explaining that ISO ratings measure the fire department’s efficiency and response times, which also influence homeowners’ insurance rates.
ISO ratings are determined by how quickly and efficiently the fire department responds to fires. This helps with determining your homeowner’s insurance rates.
In closing Morris thanked everyone for supporting the community and the chamber.
