Open House Details
You’re invited to tour the new school on January 13, 2025 according to this schedule found at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_7ljgagc4G7_m4rzNbZLZ48bJyFUOu6J/view
It is designed about your child’s homeroom teacher. During this time, you will get the opportunity to visit the entire campus, including your child’s classroom, lunchroom, gym, auditorium, outside areas, library, nurse’s station, and more!
If you are unable to attend the Open House at your child’s assigned time, please drop in between 5:00-6:00 p.m. for your chance to experience the new facility at a time that works for you!
Drop Off & Pick Up
Morning drop off and afternoon pick-up times will remain the same between the old and new campuses; however, the way traffic enters and exits the campus will be different at the new school.
Car riders may be dropped off at the front of the building between 7:15-7:55 a.m. Students will be escorted to an “early morning spot” until classroom intake begins at 7:55 a.m. at which time the car line ends for the morning drop off.
Please note! Afternoon pick-up will work differently at the new school. Adults should not exit the vehicle as car riders will be picked up using the same route across the front of the building in the afternoons. A specialized car hang tag has been provided for all car riders for ease of identification to those calling students out of the building. Students will begin dismissing at 2:40 p.m. each day.

Additional Resources
The school has chosen a special book to help students with the transition to the new campus. The heartwarming and encouraging book, Little Tree, tells a story about a tree that had to figure out how to let go and allow change to happen. This parable is beautifully told as a parallel between a tree not dropping its leaves and allowing seasons to pass and a human fighting the inevitable changes and progress in life is compelling. Young readers will see clearly how not wanting to change affects Little Tree in this simple and straight-forward tale, making the book a great conversation starter about what children are holding onto that they may want to release and let go.
Online Read Along
Students are invited to read along with Mrs. Rachel Clark, the PKS Counselor, and discuss the book. Mrs. Clark will record a student lesson and send out a link for your child to watch at a convenient time.
Transition Tips Webinar
Mrs. Clark is also hosting an optional parent webinar to provide transition resources. Parents and guardians may join her live on January 6 at 9:00 a.m. or choose to watch the recorded session at a later time.
