Deatsville man arrested after vehicle pursuit though multiple communities Sunday

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday the Prattville Police Department responded to a Harassing Communications call in the area of Summerchase Apartments on McQueen Smith Road.

Patrol units located the suspect’s vehicle which was a small white truck. After attempting to stop the vehicle driven by Charles Ray Mann, 46, of Deatsville, a pursuit ensued, according to Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson.

The pursuit went through Millbrook, Holtville and the Slapout communities before Millbrook Police used tire deflation devices to bring the pursuit to a safe ending.

The suspect then fled on foot into a wooded area where he was taken into custody by Prattville Police and charged with Driving under the Influence, and Felony Attempting to Elude a Police Officer. He was booked into the Autauga Metro Jail at 12:57 this morning.

This matter remains under investigation.

At the time Mann was taken into custody, a gun was found on his person. At this time there is no bond placed on Mann. We will update if more information becomes available.
