The Wetumpka Tree Lighting was held Friday evening along with the first night of the Wetumpka Chamber’s A Downtown Dickens Christmas.

A Downtown Dickens Christmas is a two-night annual event in Wetumpka, that was held on Friday and Saturday evening. The city was decorated into a Victorian Christmas theme, stepping back in time from scenes from “A Christmas Carol” with period costumes, photos with Father Christmas, and authentic vendors as well.

Families enjoyed listening to charming carolers, horse and carriage rides, delightful holiday scenes, and a touch of Victorian Christmas magic!

Activities included cheese and butter making to candle dipping and even a petting zoo! If you were hungry, they had kettle corn, figgy pudding, roasted nuts, smoked turkey legs, Ribeye Sandwiches from the Elmore County Cattlemen’s Association and much more!

A Live Nativity was presented by First Methodist Church Wetumpka during the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

If you missed this year’s Downtown Dickens Christmas event, please make plans to attend next year’s event and immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas!

You can visit downtown Wetumpka this Christmas season and marvel in the beautiful lighting and decorations.
