The annual Prattville Christmas Parade is just around the corner, with this year’s theme is ‘Stars Fall on Prattville this Christmas’. This year’s shining star leading the annual Parade will be the luminous Yankee McKinnon, who will serve as the 2024 Christmas Parade Grand Marshall.

McKinnon said that leading this year’s parade is a tremendous honor and she is excited to light up the town with warmth and wonder.

McKinnon is extremely active in the Prattville community. She is an advocate for the International Women’s Group, a member of the Prattauga Art Guild, a member of the YMCA, and a dedicated volunteer for local churches, and community organizations.

Not only is McKinnon dedicated to the community, she also is diligent in getting new residents involved in everything Prattville has to offer while also supporting countless nonprofits organizations throughout the River Region.

“The Christmas Parade symbolizes hope, joy and love. As a Marshal, I understand everyone’s uniqueness in God’s eyes, not about me, but about the universe’s creator. I’m excited and honored to be a part of it. Do great things, no matter how small, to bring joy to God’s world,” McKinnon said.

McKinnon is known in the community for being one of the most festive individuals around, for every holiday and event. She is known for being lighthearted, kind and vibrant, especially with her wardrobe for every event.

“The best part about the parade is greeting the whole town with ‘Merry Christmas’ at once, just like a Christmas card to the whole city,” McKinnon said.

This 2024 Prattville Christmas Parade will be held Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m. in Historic Downtown Prattville.
