City of Prattville
The City of Prattville is pleased to announce its 2024 Christmas festivities. Look forward to a dazzling light display with this year’s theme, Stars Fell on Prattville.
Watch the city come to life at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 5, at 7 P.M. Our grand 40-foot Christmas tree and light displays will illuminate downtown all at once. “We are happy to make Christmas in Prattville even more magical with every passing year,” says Prattville Parks and Recreation Director Kellie Carter. “This best memories are made at Christmastime and we love making those little moments happen.”
The holiday festivities will continue throughout December with carousel rides, ice-skating, and food trucks at Spillway Park. These activities are open on select weekdays from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. and weekends from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M.
This year’s highly anticipated Christmas parade will begin at 7 P.M. on Friday, December 6. The parade starts at the Autauga County Courthouse and turn onto West 4th Street, then turn left onto Washington Street, and right onto Wetumpka Street. From Wetumpka Street it will turn right onto Northington Street and follow Northington until it reaches E. Main Street, then turn right on E. Main Street and go straight downtown until it ends at the courthouse. (View Parade Map)
The parade grand marshal will be chosen from community submissions. On brand with this year’s theme, we hope to highlight a star in our community.
On December 10, we will host Main Street Christmas. Take this opportunity to shop locally along the Downtown Prattville strip, enjoy light displays and attractions, take a carriage ride, and stop at the various booths for face painting, giveaways, letters to Santa, and more.
Prattville hosts several other events throughout the month of December including performances of Yule Y’all at Way Off Broadway Theatre, Prattauga Art Guild workshops and art contest, and the Prattville Pops and Community Chorus Christmas Concert.
