The City of Millbrook is preparing for a Winter Wonderland for Christmas.
The Millbrook Street Department, Parks and Recreation Department and the Cultural Arts and Special Events crew are already busy preparing for the upcoming Christmas holiday and area celebrations. You may have noticed Christmas lights are already going up on the power poles. Soon the rest of the city, along with Village Green Park will come alive with light! We can only imagine, at this point, what creativity will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
This year, the Christmas Committee is seeking out World War II and Korean War veterans to serve as Grand Marshals for the parade. The date is Dec.7, and the parade will coincide with the festival at Village Green Park.
If you have information on potential Grand Marshals from the Millbrook or Elmore County area, please contact Ann Harper at 334-285-0330.
The official Millbrook Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Village Green Park.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, there is the Spirit of Christmas Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Village Green Park.
The parade will roll Dec.7 at 2 p.m. from MillCreek Park to Coosada Road.
On Friday, Dec. 13, there will be a Movie Under the Stars: Frozen Friday. It will be from 6-8 p.m. at Village Green Park. Stay tuned for more details.
