On behalf of the Autauga County Commission, Thompson read a proclamation from the county, where Thompson stated that he feels fortunate to have grown up working on farms in the area.
“I didn’t realize all the things I learned, because of working on farms. If you’re out in the middle of the field and something breaks down, you have to fix it right there, you get it fixed to keep on going. There’s a lot of things you learn working on a farm, or as a farmhand like I was back in the day, not actual farmer, but I feel very fortunate that I grew up in an area where I had that opportunity to do those things,” Thompson said.
