Police Department
On 10/22/2024 at approximately 8:45 p.m., Prattville Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Memorial Drive on a vehicle that was involved in a Breaking & Entering and Theft that occurred on 10/02/2024.
The driver, Joequisha Marshall (B/F) age 29 of Lowndesboro AL, exited the vehicle to enter a local business, at which time the passenger, James Cain Jr. (W/M) age 20, of Montgomery AL, moved to the driver side seat and fled the scene. The vehicle attempted to elude officers through the City of Prattville and into North Montgomery. Multiple Law Enforcement agencies were involved in the vehicle pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle crashed in the area of Gibson Street and Lower Wetumpka Road, in Montgomery.
After the collision, the driver threw a firearm from the vehicle and was apprehended without further incident. The firearm was reported to be stolen out of Elmore County Alabama. James Cain Jr. was booked into the Autauga Metro
Jail on charges of Felony Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement, Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle and Theft of Property 3rd Degree. The bonds for all charges totaled $55,000. Joequisha Marshall was booked into the Autauga Metro Jail on charges of Failure to Obey Law Enforcement and Resisting arrest with bonds totaling $1,000. This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges may be pending.
