From bold brush strokes to intricate details, creative minds collided when local talent took to Main Street Tuesday night. The Prattville Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Artists on Main event where local artists filled historic downtown Prattville with amazing talent, creativity and color.

The evening was geared towards visual artists, sculptors, weavers, jewelers, musicians, painters and drawers and more. Art enthusiasts set up tables with their art on display, and some artists even painted during the event. This allowed the community to watch the canvas come to life with their live demonstrations, showcasing a wealth of amazing talent.

Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Communications Director Brooke Glover confirmed that there were over 15 artists that participated in the annual event, bringing the community together for an evening of creativity.

“This event is an annual event! It started out of the tourism committee to get business travelers and tourists to come downtown during the week. It has since turned into a joint effort with the City of Prattville in conjunction with the Parade of Pumpkins and become one of our signature events,” Glover said.

The fall fun and imagination continued as the event was also in conjunction with the City of Prattville and their Parade of Pumpkins. Over 3,000 locally painted pumpkins are on display for the remainder of spooky season.

The pumpkins on display were from local schools, businesses, YMCA’s, non-profits and other groups who painted and decorated the orange canvas.

“Because Prattville is a very artistic community it allows us to showcase the many different types of artists in the area. This helps engage the community and adds variety to our events. Prattville has a lot of history, but we also want to showcase the abundance of artists we have to offer. This is truly a hidden gem in our community,” Glover said.

Between the thousands of pumpkins, the perfect Chamber of Commerce weather, the City of Prattville’s Main Street came alive Tuesday evening for a night of fellowship and an incredible display of local talent.
