This weekend, the Prattville/Autauga Humane Society (PAHS) held its highly anticipated Pet Palooza at Cooters Pond Park, drawing a large crowd of animal lovers and families for a day filled with fun and furry friends. The event was a huge success, with activities and offerings for both pets and people alike.
Pet owners had the opportunity to get their pets microchipped, ensuring a safer future for their four-legged companions. A highlight of the day was the pet costume contest, where dogs dressed in adorable and creative outfits delighted the audience.
In addition to pet-centric activities, the event catered to families with games for children, a variety of vendors selling pet supplies, and a bake sale that satisfied sweet tooths. Attendees could also participate in a raffle and enjoy delicious food served throughout the day.
One of the heartwarming features of the event was the chance to meet adoptable dogs. Sixteen dogs were present, each hoping to find their forever homes. Ivonne Hilleary, a representative from PAHS, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support, saying, “We had a lot of great vendors here today. We are so thankful for the support the community shows us.”
PAHS operates Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM, with adoptions and intakes ending at 3 PM. The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville. For those interested in making a difference, PAHS welcomes volunteers to join their team. To get involved, submit a Volunteer Application Form, or contact them via email at [email protected] or by calling 334-358-2882.
With the success of Pet Palooza, the community is sure to be looking forward to next year’s event!
