The Prattville Christian Academy Volleyball team won the Class 4A Area 5 Tournament on Thursday night with wins on Booker T. Washington (25-2, 25-6, 25-9) in the semi-finals and LAMP (25-10, 25-10, 25-19) in the championship match. The Panthers, ranked #1 in Class 4A, improve to 38-14 on the season.
Emma Cate Carter was named Most Valuable Player of the Area 5 Tournament with 14 kills, 11 digs, and 9 aces.
Baylee Rogers and Leah Cate Wilson were also named to the All-Tournament Team. Rogers had 53 assists, 1 kill, 3 digs, and 14 aces. Wilson had 14 kills, 6 digs, 2 blocks, and 1 ace.
“I’m really proud of our girls for winning the area tournament. They have worked really hard all season to get to this point, and we are excited to compete at regionals next week! Our goals moving forward are to finish as the south super region champions, and ultimately win another state championship. We’ve got some work to do before next week, but these girls are willing to do whatever it takes,” said Coach Kaylon Cantrell
Maren Diefenderfer had 14 kills, 1 block, and 1 dig.
Paysley Bayer had 4 kills and 1 dig.
Jenna McClendon had 6 kills, 1 block, and 1 dig.
Olivia Rossi had 5 kills.
Anniston Robison had 1 kill, 6 digs, and 3 aces.
Natalee Wheeler had 11 digs, 1 assist,
Brylee Byrd had 6 digs and 2 aces.
Aiden Williams had 3 aces, and 2 digs.
Marion Lewis and Kenadie Minor each had 1 dig.
The top ranked Panthers will move on to the Class 4A Super Regional which will take place next week in Montgomery at the Cramton Bowl Complex.
