The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce gathered this morning for its monthly Morning Brew event, held in the Stanhope Elmore High School cafeteria. Attendees were greeted with a hearty breakfast spread, including biscuits, gravy, sausage, fruit, grits, and donuts, provided by the school’s cafeteria staff.
Sponsored by Valley Bank, the event drew a broad array of community members, including Chamber board members, ambassadors, local council members, county commissioners, Senator Clyde Chambliss, and District Attorney CJ Robinson.
One of the event’s highlights was the introduction of the 13 newly appointed Junior Ambassadors. Junior Ambassador Chairperson Ashley Williams shared her excitement about the program’s goals, stating, “We want to utilize this program to teach these kids about hospitality, networking, and professionalism, and how to be great contributors to their community.”
Stanhope Elmore High School Principal Ewell Fuller also addressed the crowd, noting that the school now serves over 1,200 students. He expressed his gratitude to all who support the school’s continued growth and success.
Brenda Dennis, President and CEO of the Millbrook Chamber of Commerce, made an exciting announcement that they will be awarding $10,000 in scholarships to this year’s Junior Ambassadors.
After the formal announcements, local business owners were given the opportunity to share updates. The Worx Auto Detail, LLC, announced it is serving as a drop-off location for hurricane donations, collecting items such as water, food, jackets, and blankets at 2161 Main St., Millbrook.
The day’s activities will continue with the Chamber’s Young Professionals event, which is set for tonight at Cask and Vine, located at 81 Wisteria Place, Millbrook, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
This month’s Morning Brew once again served as a great opportunity for networking, community-building, and celebrating local accomplishments.
