From the Prattville
Pilot Club
The Pilot Club of Prattville, at their October 5 meeting, presented 50 bicycle helmets to the Montgomery Bicycle Club. MBC refurbishes and re-homes unwanted bikes and these helmets will be given to individuals who adopt bikes or people who don’t have helmets or have outgrown their helmet.
Additionally, the club presented the Alabama District of Pilot International with a check to help fund their 2025 annual T.B.I. (Traumatic Brain Injury) camp.
The club also welcomed and initiated a new member, Michell Jones Grainger.
About the Prattville Pilot Club
The Pilot Club of Prattville was chartered on April 20, 1967, by a group of professional and businesswomen.
Their meetings consist of a program or project along with a business session. As a part of the Alabama District of Pilot International they also participate in an annual Fall Council as well as a Spring Convention. The members are dedicated to carrying out the organization’s mission at the club, district and international levels.
Since 1991 the service focus of Pilot International has been helping people affected by brain-related disorders including prevention-related programs such as their signature program Brainminders®.
Through partnerships with other state and local organizations that share a similar focus or mission, Pilot members have unlimited opportunities to help those in need.
Founded in Macon, GA in 1921, Pilot International has been dedicated to serve for over a century. Originally designed as a volunteer service organization for business and professional women, Pilot International has since expanded to include men and women from around the globe and in all walks of life.
The historic inspiration for the name was the riverboat pilot who would steer a true course through calm or troubled waters, thus, for over 100 years, Pilots have served under the motto “True Course Ever.” Today’s Pilots find their “true course” through their charge to do more, care more and BE MORE every day.
The Pilot Club of Prattville meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. The agenda includes a program or project along with a business session.
Meetings are held in the Harvey Clark Room at the Bradford Branch of the Prattville YMCA 972 McQueen Smith Road South.
