Orange you glad it’s fall? Prattville to host 6th annual Parade of Pumpkins

From the City of Prattville

The Parade of Pumpkins

Join us for the 6th Annual Parade of Pumpkins in Historic Downtown Prattville from October 18th-October 31st. Festive
storefronts, seasonal displays, hundreds of decorated pumpkins from citizens, including over 600 from local schools,
carved pumpkin exhibits, and food trucks will transform Historic Downtown. We are excited to announce the new addition
of the Harvest Haven to join the Butterfly Garden, the GLOW Trail, and the Pumpkin Barrel Trail. This family-friendly
event is free and open for all to participate. Grab a pumpkin, get in the spirit, and share your creativity at the Parade of
Pumpkins!
To participate:
1. Carve, decorate, or paint your pumpkin.
2. Bring your pumpkin to Historic Downtown Prattville.
3. Place it on display along the parade beginning October 19th.
4. The City has lights set for your pumpkin each night. (Candles are prohibited.)
5. Enter your pumpkin in the “Best Pumpkin” Contest for a chance to win $100 cash sponsored by Julianne
Hansen Fine Art & Pottery and more!
The Prattauga Art Guild is hosting a FREE Pumpkin Painting event for kids of all ages on Thursday, October 17th. This
come-and-go pumpkin painting activity will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. (while supplies last) outside at the Prattville
Creative Arts Center (342 S. Chestnut). Pumpkins and art supplies will be provided. All decorated pumpkins will be
displayed in Historic Downtown Prattville through October 31st. We can’t wait to see all the creative pumpkins!
The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the City of Prattville to host “Artists on Main” during the
Parade of Pumpkins on October 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This event will feature art, music, and more.
One of the best features of the Parade of Pumpkins is the festive downtown merchant storefronts. Each participating
location will be judged for the “Best Storefront Contest.” While you enjoy the pumpkins, displays, and creativity, please
make sure you visit with the downtown merchants.
We partner with AICC to host a food drive during the Parade of Pumpkins. Drop-off locations for non-perishable items
and toiletries are inside the front entrance of City Hall.
We want to thank our sponsors, James Hardie, Civil Southeast, LLC, McKee & Associates Architects, Inc., Randy Jones
& Associates, and Alabama Power for sponsoring the Parade of Pumpkins. For more information, visit
