When life gives you lemons, the classic saying states that you make lemonade, and that’s exactly what owners Chris and MJ Stoudemire did and then some.

The Local Lemon along with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting signifying The Local Lemon officially being open at 702 Commerce Court in the City of Prattville.

“We’ve got a great crowd here today and congratulations to The Local Lemon,” Chairman of the Prattville Area Chamber Board of Directors, Lisa Miller said.

After serving 20 years in the military, Chris, Autauga County native, has come back to his roots bringing his family along with him. MJ stated that she didn’t know anyone when she moved to Prattville, where Chris grew up.

“I’m thankful to Chris, I’m thankful to Prattville and thankful for lemonade. But for me, about a lot more than that. I moved here recently, and this is how I’ve built my community here in Prattville,” MJ said.

According to The Local Lemon website, the dynamic duo wanted to share and build a business that would bring the connections a hometown has to offer while also spreading warmth, in the form of liquid sunshine, in their community. Thus, the idea behind The Local Lemon was born.

“It’s good to call Prattville my home and I’m glad to be back home. When I retire, I plan on not working for anybody else but myself and lemonade is definitely something that’s going to be a lot less stressful,” Chris said with a laugh.

Chris went on to thank everyone for coming out and showing support and asked their pastor to bless the business.
