Let the good times roll and spice up your life with a bite of Cajun right here in the fountain city.
Uncle Mick’s Cajun Market & Café, a restaurant in historic downtown Prattville, was awarded a liquor license at the Prattville City Council meeting Tuesday evening. The resolution was on the consent agenda, where a liquor license was approved unanimously.
Mickey Thompson or as Prattville affectionately knows him, Uncle Mick, opened Uncle Mick’s in February of 2009. Their mission, according to their website, is to serve authentic Cajun cuisine in a family friendly atmosphere.
“We are excited to get our ABC license. We are in the process of completing our private event dining area which will seat 40-60 people. We plan to have this beautiful dining room available mid-October and will begin serving beer and wine at that time,” Nikki Brothers with Uncle Mick’s said.
Everything is made from scratch every morning, creating a rotating selection of classic favorites until it’s gone for the day.
Thompson stated on the website that if customers are having trouble making up their mind, they are encouraged to sample what interests them before getting to the register. While classic Cajun style food tends to be spicey, Uncle Mick’s has a spice level and style for all types of eaters, from picky to adventurous.
Currently, Uncle Mick’s is ranked as the number one restaurant in Prattville by Trip Advisor with a 5.0 rating and 445 reviews. Additionally, Uncle Mick’s Cajun Market & Café was also ranked number one on Trip Advisor from 2013 to 2018, six years in a row.
Uncle Mick’s a community staple in historic downtown Prattville, now will take their favorites to the next level with expanding the restaurant and soon to be serving wine and beer, as early as next month.
