From the City of Prattville
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know?
Every day, 47 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer.
Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children under 15.
Despite advances, only 4% of U.S. federal funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers.
Over 80% of children diagnosed with cancer now survive 5 years or more, thanks to research and treatment advances.
Mayor Gillespie proclaims September 2024 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in the City of Prattville. Let’s come together this month to raise awareness, support research, and stand with the brave kids and families fighting this battle.
