Millbrook Business Owner, former Coosada Reserve Officer Arrested for Sexual Misconduct

FROM CHIEF P.K. JOHNSON

MILLBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT

Jesse Thomas, 33, of Millbrook has been arrested on suspicion of Sexual Misconduct. He is the owner of Millbrook Adventure Kids Preschool and nursery.

On August 19. 2024, a Millbrook resident filed a State Offense Report, alleging that her employer, Thomas had made unwanted/unsolicited comments of a sexual nature directed towards her between April of this year through August. The complainant also alleged that the alleged offender touched her inappropriately on several occasions during the same time frame.

The complainant petitioned the Millbrook Municipal Court, seeking an arrest warrant against the alleged offender. Upon reviewing the facts of the case, municipal court officials found probable cause to issue a warrant for Thomas’ arrest for Sexual Misconduct, which is classified as a Class A misdemeanor.

On August 21, 2024, Jesse W. Thomas turned himself into the Millbrook Police Department, where he was arrested on the warrant (Sexual Misconduct), which was issued by the Millbrook Municipal Court. Thomas was processed and released upon posting bond.

Due to the nature of this case, I am limited to what I can comment on. While this is a misdemeanor offense, it is a very serious charge, particularly when considering that the offenses alleged occurred at the victim’s place of employment and the relationship between the victim and alleged offender, being in a position of authority or owner of the business. It is my understanding that prior to his arrest, the alleged offender, Thomas, had been employed with the Coosada Police Department, in a Reserve Police Officer capacity. He resigned his position with the department prior to surrendering himself on the arrest warrant held by the Millbrook Police Department.

Thomas was treated as any other citizen charged with a criminal offense, being placed under arrest on the warrant, processed and released upon satisfying bond requirements. He has been issued a court date in the Millbrook Municipal Court, where he faces prosecution on the charge filed against him.
