Elmore County has added a button on the website to allow parents to submit absence excuses online! On the www.elmoreco.com home page, under “Highlights,” click “Attendance.” Remember that excuses still need to be submitted within 3 days of the student returning from the absence!
Please also remember the following regarding absences:
1. Students receive zeros for any unexcused absences.
2. Students are limited to 7 parent excuses per year.
3. Students who reach 18 absences on the year are labeled Chronically Absent by the State of Alabama, which has serious impacts on the academic performance of the student and school. Additionally, any students who are chronically absent will not be eligible to have hardships renewed or to have absences pre-approved by the Principal the following year. Excessive absences may also affect a student’s ability to attend field trips and/or miss school for extracurricular activities.
