MONTGOMERY POST – A two-vehicle crash involving a commercial fuel truck occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, and has claimed the life of an Autaugaville man. Karlos D. Golson Jr., 33, was fatally injured when the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup he was driving collided head-on with the 2022 Peterbilt commercial fuel truck driven by Aaron E. Brooks, 37, of Montgomery. Golson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. As a result of the collision, the Peterbilt caught on fire and became totally engulfed in flames. However, Brooks was able to safely exit the Peterbilt and was uninjured.

The crash occurred on Alabama 14 near the 144-mile marker, approximately five miles west of Prattville, in Autauga County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
