The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is making waves one event at a time and hosting their Young Professionals Mixer on August 22nd at Montgomery Whitewater.

“We work to engage all generations in the workforce, not just young professionals.  But when it comes to professionals under the age of 40 it can be especially beneficial to host these types of events, like the one we’re having at Montgomery Whitewater.  Many young professionals are just starting to get involved in the community and we want to help give them those opportunities to engage one another,” President and CEO of the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Brenda Dennis said.

Young professionals can participate in a rafting experience for $45 with a social to follow, starting at 4 p.m. with a mandatory briefing.

However, if rafting is not feasible for some, the social and networking part of the evening will begin at 6 p.m. for $30.

“As a young professional, I think networking and engaging with other young professionals is important to help build relationships with peers, foster new opportunities, and exchange ideas. By doing so, this will help grow future business leaders and entrepreneurs within our community for the business landscape of tomorrow,” ambassador chair for the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and wealth advisor at Max Credit Union, Jordan Holloran said.

Registration for both the rafting and networking, and the social only will be open through August 11th. To register visit the Chamber website or visit, https://business.millbrookchamber.org/calendar/Details/macc-young-professionals-mixer-montgomery-whitewater-1160872?sourceTypeId=Hub

This event is geared towards young professionals in the River Region that are under 40 – ish years of age, many of which are in the Millbrook Chamber’s ambassador program.

The ambassador program with the Millbrook Chamber helps enhance and promote not only the support of local businesses, but also the young professionals in the area as well.

“I think what makes our Ambassador Program so special is that it’s a mixture of people in the workforce from different generations who have found their common denominator.  Just like our Board of Directors, our ambassadors understand that they have a responsibility to our business community, which is the backbone of our local economy.  When a new business celebrates a grand opening or any other milestone, it is our board and ambassadors that cheer the loudest,” Dennis said.
