Sunshine, water slides and endless summer adventures to come this Saturday at the Drive-In Park with their annual Summer Fun Fest.

The Fun fest is hosted by Drive-In Ministries, and it is free to the public. The event will take place on Saturday July 20th from 10 a.m. to noon, with activities geared towards kids around the ages of 3-12 at the Drive-In Park, at 1349 Old Ridge Rd. in Prattville.

Drive-In Ministries does four free children’s events per year to share God’s love with the community, Dana Morrison stated. Morrison is one of the event coordinators for this year’s Summer Fun Fest and a member of Drive-in Ministries.

“Our main goal is to share God’s love through the community, through the movies, and through the events. There’s a lot that goes into the planning and sometimes we even have churches that join us and help us plan the events. This particular one, the team of us that make up the ministry have planned it together,” Morrison said.

Morrison confirmed that there will be bounce houses, water slides, including an inflatable water slide, games and on-site concessions available for purchase.

Also available for purchase, the Summer Fun Fest will host vendors, which include River Region Snobiz, The Peanut Peddler, El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant, Freedom Frozen Delights, and Moores Gourmet Popcorn.

“We’ll have lots of different water games to play during the event, the kids really love the slip and slide. Food vendors will be available for purchase and everything else is completely free of charge,” Morrison said.

Every Friday evening, the Drive-In Ministries also hosts family movie nights. Every Friday night a family friendly movie is played at dark from March through November at the Drive-In Park. Morrison confirmed this is also free of charge and currently the movies are starting at 8:15 p.m.

“My favorite is getting to meet all these new people in the community. But it’s neat to see how God puts this together and how the community comes together too. From all the planning steps to the different companies that work with us. God puts it all together for us,” Morrison said.
