Show Me Reptile comes to Millbrook with thrills and chills

Exotic animal lovers, or the simply curious, visited the Millbrook Civic Center Saturday for the Show Me Reptile exhibit Saturday. Those that were not sure or a bit timid, stood back, while others were happy to snuggle with a python, gecko, tarantula, or many of the reptiles and animals on display. For a price, many of the critters present were available to take home.

When I arrived I talked with Terry, who helped organize the show. He is also with Dixie Reptiles out of Gadsden and is a breeder of various species of snakes.

I also met Mike Camire II and Anne Sailors, with Baby Dinosaur Exotics LLC which is based out of Prattville. You can find them on Instagram. They specialize in Crested Gecko, White’s Tree Frogs, Mealworms, Dubia Roaches, Isopods and Spring tails.

There were birds, a pot-bellied pig and a very sleepy baby kangaroo everyone could visit as well.

The kangaroo was brought by Bone Family Exotic Farm out of Opp. The representative said it was a Red Kangaroo, which can grow to six feet in height when full grown. On Saturday, the baby was snuggled up in a pouch and sleeping peacefully.

A precious Sugar glider was jumping around its cage.

Vendors reported a good day in Millbrook with a steady crowd of enthusiasts or just the curious customers making their way through the civic center. All said they will have future shows in the area, so we will try and let everyone know about upcoming events for those interested. You can follow them at www.showmereptileshow.com
