The first Creekwalk Concert Series kicked off at Spillway Park in downtown Prattville Tuesday evening with the Picker House as the perfect backdrop alongside the Autauga Creek to the “small” town concert tradition.
The Prattville Cultural Arts Department spearheads the Summer Creekwalk Concert Series in Prattville, which runs through July. Concerts are free to the public and the Summer Concert Series is on the second and fourth Tuesdays in June and July starting at 6 p.m. at Spillway Park in Prattville.
The concerts will feature different local artists or bands to create a fun environment for the public to enjoy. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, and a few friends to enjoy the music on a summer evening. Local vendors are also present to provide refreshments for purchase during the concerts as well.
“We really try and give our community something to do that’s local on a Tuesday Summer night. It also attracts tourists from nearby hotels and surrounding areas to come and enjoy historic downtown Prattville,” Prattville Cultural Arts Manager, Mynecia Steele said.
Local musician Brandon Jordan and his band started the series off with a completely full Spillway Park. The Autauga County native sang country covers from Zach Bryan to Morgan Wallen and had the whole crowd singing along for a beautiful southern evening in the fountain city.
The next concert will be Tuesday, June 25th featuring Soul Creations starting at 6 p.m.
