The Prattville Rotary Club along with LoneStar Rodeo Company hosted their second annual River Region Rodeo, a two-day event at the Prattville Christian Academy campus last weekend.

All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the community and local recipients of grants and scholarships administered by the Prattville Rotary Club.

The Rodeo started off with opening ceremonies, and other family related events. Friday night was geared towards kids and family fun, Prattville Rotarian and marketing chairperson, and former Miss Rodeo USA, Jessie Lynn stated. Saturday night was the music night, with a free concert performed by Lynn herself as well as other rodeo and kids’ activities to follow.

“We wanted to do something that was different than your traditional form of fundraising. We decided we wanted to host a rodeo, I think it’s just a unique way to raise funds to put back into the community,” Lynn said.

Saturday evening Lynn performed her signature country music, but with a twist! She performed some originals, while also paying tribute to classic country songs, new age covers and even dabbled in some rock genre covers as well.

Lynn is classically trained as a Broadway singer and has had an extensive and successful musical career that is still on going.

The Prattville Rotary Club has partnered with LoneStar Rodeo Company, a family owned and championship caliber rodeo in bringing a world-class and family friendly rodeo entertainment to the River Region.

LoneStar Rodeo Company has 75-years- of rodeo experience under their belt buckles and is one of the nation’s oldest family produced rodeo companies, according to their website.

“The best part of this whole experience has been that there are several members that I have grown up with and now we have all become extremely close friends. Now we all get a chance to work on this project together, the whole thing has just been really fun and enjoyable,” Lynn
