Good Morning Central Alabama. Here is your Thursday morning update to the wet end of the week. After a dry day today, showers and storms move back in overnight tonight into Friday morning. Periods of heavy rain will continue through Saturday. The latest trends have made us really concerned about flooding as the heavy bands of rain now look to set up as far north as Birmingham on Friday. Additional heavy rain on Saturday over the same areas will cause quite a concern and result in flooding. We also still have a concern for severe storms on Friday afternoon/evening. However those are conditional based on the extent of the rain on Friday morning and into the afternoon. Storms overnight Friday into Saturday could be on the strong side but we feel as though widespread severe after Friday night would be limited, with the rainfall coverage we are expecting.
