Ross passed away last month on Feb. 12th, at 78-years-old. The County Commission read a resolution in honor of his dedicated service to the community and Autauga County while serving as a commissioner from 1996-2000.

Ross’s brother-in-law, Al Shanks, was there to receive the signed resolution from all commission members on behalf of Shank’s family.

Their next event will be a free shred day in the Autauga County Commission parking lot, 135 N Court St. on March 16th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Commission also approved for the Autauga County Emergency Management Director, David Bagley to apply for further funding for Autauga EMA services through a State of Homeland Security Grant program as well as to accept assets from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency, or AEMA.

During the public comments portion of the meeting, two members of Read Freely Alabama stated their grievances with the County Commissioners and called for them to take action against the commission appointed members of the Library Board.
