MILLBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT
Tuesday night during the Millbrook City Council meeting, Officers D. Esco and Larry Hatfield were recognized for their life saving actions, which occurred on Christmas Day.
On December 25, 2023, Millbrook Police and Fire Departments responded to the 4600 block of Goodwyn Road with regard to a possible drug overdose. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject lying on the floor of the residence, not breathing. They quickly initiated lifesaving procedures, administering CPR. Realizing their efforts were having little to no effect, officers administered a single dose of Narcan, at which time the victim began breathing on his on. Millbrook paramedics arrived and took control of the victim’s care.
Due to the officer’s prompt response and decisive actions, a Millbrook citizen lived to see another Christmas. Both officers received a Letter of Commendation for their actions. Please join me in thanking both officers and congratulating them for a Job Well Done.
