Have you always dreamed of seeing the French Riviera and the historic town of Nice? Now is the chance! The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Collette Travel, presents an inclusive nine-day trip to the French Riviera from October 24 – November 1, 2024. All excursions, travel from door-to-door and 12 meals are included with the final price.

An informational meeting will be held at the Millbrook Civic Center on February 6th at 5:30 p.m. where Jack Brinson of Collette Travel will present information and answer questions about this fabulous, reasonably priced trip of a lifetime.

Collette Travel is a travel agency that has been in business for over 100 years. Jack Collette started Collette Tours in 1918, with the first trip being a three week trip from Boston to Florida for $68.50, according to their website. Now they facilitate travel all over the world and work with Area Chambers of Commerce throughout the U.S.

“They’re a reputable company and they will take care of you from start to finish. They also really want you to have a good time. I talked to so many Chambers and really did my homework, spending a lot of my time researching this,” Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce President Brenda Dennis said.

The trip starts out of the Montgomery airport and includes door-to-door transportation to and from the airport with an overnight flight to France. The entire itinerary is planned and included in the final price so travelers can rest easy, knowing they don’t have to lift a finger in the most stressful portion of a vacation or the planning. On the French Riviera travelers will be booked at one hotel and do the planned excursions from this location in the French city of Nice.

Being on the French coastal heart of the Mediterranean, Nice is known for their stunning and relaxing beaches, mesmerizing views of the Mediterranean, fantastic architecture, food, culture and rich history.

“To me this would be like the beautiful old days of classical travel. It just seems like such a beautiful place, and it would take you back to another time. France has such a beautiful culture, and it would be great to see and learn new things,” Dennis said.

Some highlights of this trip include the Nice Flower Market in old town, a Food Tour & Tasting, a walking tour of Monaco, a hands-on workshop and tour of the Fragonard Perfumery. There is also an evening in the medieval Village of Eze, Saint-Honorat Island as well as wine tasting and so much more.

The best part is, travelers are under no obligation to go on excursions, Dennis confirmed. “I am not the type of person that would enjoy being booked all day on a trip at times. You’re not locked into anything. If you don’t want to get on the bus, you can sleep in your hotel room and eat croissants if you want to,” Dennis said.

There are also additional extras available for the trip, such as a three-night, four-day Paris post tour extension. Upgrades for specific aspects of travel are also available, such as upgrading from economy to business or first class for the flights.

Something to note is this trip is categorized with an activity level of three, meaning that this will be an on-the-go yet relaxing trip. This trip is recommended for people that would be comfortable walking around four or more miles a day, climbing in and out of various modes of transportation, can climb three flights of stairs with no problem and can walk without injury on uneven surfaces and cobblestoned ground.

A deposit is due upon reservation and the final payment for the trip is due August 25th.

“One of the reasons Collette is so great to work with for a Chamber is because they have developed this program where they give back to the community. It comes to the Chamber and the Chamber is able to do bigger and better things,” Dennis said.
