The 12th annual Christmas at the Alabama Nature Center was held on Saturday in Millbrook. Over 100 guests and members attended this memorable event put on by the staff. Admission to the event was only five dollars for ages four and up and all proceeds went back into the Alabama Nature Center.

Activities for the day included a special visit with Santa Claus. A Christmas ornament made out of a seashells was also available. The children were able to decorate their own sugar cookies. A hayride was held around the Nature Center while the weather was nice. A self-guided candy cane hunt was held in the Discovery Hall. A winter sensory area was also held in the Discovery Hall and children enjoyed using their touch, smell, and sight to find out what was inside the boxes. A movie special of “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” was playing in the theater for families to watch. Hot chocolate and coffee were available throughout the event to keep families warm.

Matt Vines is the ANC Camps and Community Programs Coordinator and was in charge of this fun event.

“This was a great holiday event.  As always, the staff and volunteers did a wonderful job helping at all of the stations. We always enjoy putting on this event and look forward to doing it again next year,” said Vines.
