The inclement weather held off for the Prattville Tree Lighting and sprung the holiday spirit into the heart of the city Thursday night.

With an ice-skating rink, food trucks, snow falling and lights all around it was a sight to behold. Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie pulled the lever to light Prattville’s Christmas tree at 6 p.m. with help from numerous children in the community.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus were also in attendance for the tree lighting ceremony with their sleigh and reindeer on display. Holiday cheer was widespread and bright throughout Prattville Thursday night.

Prattville’s Christmas parade has been rescheduled and will be held Friday Dec. 8th at 7 p.m.
