On Saturday, the St. Michael and All Angel’s Episcopal Church held their annual AngelFest event in Millbrook.
This annual tradition has been going on for over 20 years. 18 of those years, Father Mark Waldo has been the Priest at St. Michael and All Angel’s Episcopal Church.
“I am particularly very grateful to host AngelFest for our wonderful, diverse community we have here in Millbrook. When you think of AngelFest, we hope you think of it as a ministry for our community, because it brings us all closer together,” said Father Mark Waldo.
Vendors sold handmade items, art, and other beautiful pieces.
For children they had a kids carnival set up that included games, crafts, a photo booth, and much more.
Boston butts and baked good items made by members of the church sold out quickly.
A silent auction was held, and people were able to bid on items they had.
Another great item that sold fast was some delicious, boiled peanuts in regular or Cajun flavors.
The annual AngelFest event is held every year on the third Saturday of October and this event brings people from the tri-county area out to buy local items and to fellowship with one another.
All proceeds from the event go towards their Blessing Box that feeds many families throughout the week, the W.E.L.C.O.M.E Center, and also for donations to the local schools in the area.
Virginia Barber, the AngelFest Chair and Senior Warden said, “AngelFest is our annual festival that helps raise money for the many ministries we do in our community. It’s been going on for over 20 years and we try to make it bigger and better each year and this year was no different! We had our kid’s carnival, vendors galore, and so many other things! We completely sold out of Boston butts and bake sale items! It is a great event, and the weather couldn’t have been better! AngelFest is definitely a team effort within our church, but we always work seamlessly together! We will be back again the 3rd Saturday in October 2024.”
