Prattville Officials to Honor Local Citizen with Naming of North Highland Park Pavilion

The community is invited to join the City of Prattville and Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. in dedicating the newly renovated pavilion at North Highland Park in honor of Mary Virginia Harris.

Ms. Harris is a prominent citizen of the City of Prattville and an alumnus of North Highland School.

She served as the first African American licensed nurse at the Prattville General Hospital and has been a dedicated volunteer to the City of Prattville for many years.

“Ms. Mary Virginia is a blessing to everyone who meets her and we are honored to be able to make this dedication recognizing her,” said Kellie Cook, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We hope the public will join us in honoring her and showing her our appreciation.”

The dedication will take place on Thursday, October 12th at 4pm at North Highland Park.
