A word from Supt. Richard Dennis as Elmore County wraps up Third Week of new School Year
FROM RICHARD DENNIS
SUPERINTENDENT OF ELMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
As we end week three of school Friday Night Lights begins with great anticipation in all communities. Holtville High School started it off early by traveling to Fultondale last night and won the season opener 28-24; congratulations Bulldogs! ECHS, SEHS and WHS will all travel this evening for their first games of the season. Good luck to each as the season kicks off, and as we begin to host football games and other extracurricular activities, please review spectator guidelines in each community. Parents are responsible for supervision of their children, and I am specifically addressing middle school students that are left unsupervised. Inappropriate behavior at extracurricular activities will not be tolerated and will receive the same disciplinary consequences assigned during school hours. Please, assist the administration in your child’s school zone as they work to maintain safe and orderly events.
The Elmore Young Engineering Leadership Club, a high school-led organization representing the entire district, is preparing to take charge of a VEX IQ robotics scrimmage designed for middle and elementary students. The event will take place this Saturday at Wetumpka High School. This year’s VEX IQ Challenge, “Full Volume,” promises excitement and team innovation. The club’s preparations will culminate with comprehensive training through Auburn University’s S.C.O.R.E. program. Aligned with our dedication to student-centric initiatives, we are especially appreciative of the commitment exhibited by these exceptional high school students.
If you would like to receive my call outs and other system-wide communications texted through Remind, visit the Elmore County Public Schools website and follow the registration process.
Have a great afternoon and enjoy your weekend!
Every Student Empowered, Every Student Succeeds.
