Millbrook First United Methodist Church Welcomes Dr. Tyler Cox as New Pastor

MILLBROOK, ALABAMA – Millbrook First United Methodist Church is pleased to announce and welcome the Reverend Doctor Tyler Cox as the church’s new Senior Pastor. Dr. Cox, a native of Prattville, Alabama, will be responsible for leading the spiritual life of the church and the community it serves. Dr. Cox comes to Millbrook from the Marianna/Panama City District of the Alabama West Florida United Methodist Conference, where he served as pastor for Blountstown United Methodist Church. He has also served as a chaplain in the Alabama Air National Guard. Dr. Cox attended Auburn University Montgomery, Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, Liberty Theological Seminary and Candler School of Theology, earning degrees in Psychology, Law, and Theology. 

“Our God’s ministry has been strong at Millbrook First United Methodist Church and will only get stronger as we work towards His mission of grace and hope.  I am grateful to be able to join Millbrook First on this mission and look forward to the blessings of grace God has set before us and our community in Millbrook, Alabama.”

Dr. Cox’s first Sunday to lead worship in Millbrook is August 13, 2023. Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m. with a traditional service including liturgy and hymns from the choir. Sunday school classes are held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a contemporary service featuring a praise band in a more modern setting for worship at 11:15 a.m.
