A former, volunteer baseball coach at Holtville Middle School has been arrested and is in Elmore County Jail after an apparent drug bust at a residence in Elmore County Thursday.

We are tracking down details at this time and will update accordingly. The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case, but the lead investigators are with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA.) Elmore Sheriff Bill Franklin referred all calls for information to ALEA, confirming his deputies assisted, but “this is ALEA’s case.”.

We have reached out to ALEA and will update with more information that can be released currently.

What we can confirm per Elmore County Jail records is Lashley, 40, of Wetumpka, was booked Thursday evening at 6:19 p.m. His current charges are Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond is listed at $2,000.

On his social media page, information shows he is an assistant coach with Holtville Middle Schools Baseball’s program. However, Elmore County School Superintendent Richard Dennis confirmed he has not been active as a coach with the program for some time.

This case is still being investigated, and it is possible there will be further charges.

An arrest is an accusation, and all who are arrested are presumed innocent until their day in court.
