The Elmore County National Wildlife Federation held their annual JAKES Take Aim event last weekend at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka, AL. They had over 75 kids come and enjoy the fun outdoor activities planned for the day. This annual event was established in 2008.

This FREE event had many activities which included: NRA demonstration, air rifle inflatable, SWAT demonstration, shotgun balloon targets, trappers, Beekeepers presentation, making a wooden birdhouse and wooden walking sticks, throwing tom-a-hawks, and using a sling shot with small rocks. Each child received a FREE T-shirt, and lunch was provided.

The Elmore County NWTF would like to thank all the families that brought their kids out. They said they could not put on this annual event without the many volunteers and sponsors.
