This morning Autauga Creek in Prattville invited kayak and canoe enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful scenery for a Kayak Fun Run.
Autauga Kayak/Canoe trail is a great way to cool off and see the beautiful nature (bamboo, waterfalls and the foliage) and history Prattville has to offer. Participants were in the company of experienced creek kayakers and canoers. Participants provide their own equipment, (canoe, kayak, paddleboard, life jackets, sunglasses, drinking water, sunblock etc.) No glass or alcoholic beverages are allowed during these events.
After dropping off their equipment at the starting point and taking their vehicle to the ending point, a bus shuttled them back (no charge) to the starting point.
The fun run began behind City Hall and ended on County Road 4 at the take out on Rueben Road.
For years, the hard work of members of the trail and volunteers have helped not only bring awareness to the beauty and opportunity, but help to keep debris clear. Their efforts have created a wonderful addition to leisure and entertainment for Autauga County.
You can follow the Autauga Creek Canoe Trail for more information and upcoming events on Facebook.
