It was a day of reflection, a day of gratitude and a gathering of Veterans of all ages.
The annual Memorial Day Ceremony was held Monday at the Autauga County Courthouse, as wreaths were placed to remember the fallen. The event was hosted by the City of Prattville, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1349 and the American Legion Post 122. Reenactors placed the wreaths on monuments, and officials reminded all that we must never take the sacrifices made for granted.
Following the ceremony, the crowd was invited to the American Legion Post 122 for lunch and visiting. We particularly love seeing the faces of veterans in the crowd, and we thank them for their service. We remember those who never made it home, and the families who will forever grieve their loss. We remember and honor them.
