Area Students graduate from Huntingdon College

FROM HUNTINGON COLLEGE

Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College awarded the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree to 176 graduates during 2023 Commencement Exercises, held Saturday, May 6, at Top Stage on the Huntingdon Green.  Baccalaureate degree graduates included 18 students in the College’s Evening Bachelor’s Degree program, who earned the Bachelor of Science degree; and 158 students in the traditional day program, who earned the Bachelor of Arts degree. The Commencement Address was given by Huntingdon professor of chemistry Dr. John Kenneth Berch, a member of the Huntingdon Class of 1998.

Traditional Day Program Honors and Awards Conferred

Eleven traditional day graduates were recognized with the Margaret Read Scholarship Medal for achieving the highest grade point averages in the Class of 2023. Area Students were:

·         Chad Bowen, Prattville, Ala.

·         Hunter Warr, Deatsville, Ala.

·         McKayla Wilson, Millbrook, Ala.

The Willard D. Top Award, given annually during Commencement Exercises to the graduate(s) who exemplifies the highest commitment to both academics and service, is a member of Alpha Beta honorary, and is ranked among the top ten percent of those inducted into Sigma Sigma Sigma honorary, was awarded to Savana Carter, of Trussville, Ala., and Hunter Warr, of Deatsville, Ala.
