On Wednesday, April 19th New Life Christian Academy students in the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten enjoyed a field trip to the local library, fire station, and Village Green Park in Millbrook.

They heard stories about community helpers at the library. While at the fire station, the firefighters put on a presentation for the students and they observed a fireman putting on his full gear. The firemen even played games of Rock, Paper Scissors with the kids while in the turnout gear.

At Village Green Park, the children had lunch at the picnic tables, and played on the playground.

Millbrook Police Department Sergeant Christopher VanHouten came to the park to talk to the children. They asked him questions and were able to explore his vehicle.

This is the first year for the field trip to learn more about community helpers in our area. The teachers that attended included Denise Edwards, Ann Betzhold, and Nanmarie Jarrett.
