American Legion Post 133 of Millbrook held a charity ride and event for Service Dog Alabama April 15.

On Thursday evening, the Post presented the proceeds from that fundraiser, which raised $12,133. Accepting that check was Caroline Sease, executive director of Service Dogs Alabama

Elmore County veteran Darrell Wilson and his new service dog Bunny were part of the events. He and his family expressed extreme thanks to the hard work of the American Legion Post 133 members for hosting the fundraiser.

“I just want to give a big shout out to all the volunteers and participants in the ride and activities we had for Service Dog Alabama annual charity event. It was an amazing success and would not have been possible without all of their help. This is what Post 133 is about,” said Post 133 Commander Bobby Boswell.

The fundraiser event day included a ride, food, raffles, auctions and a 50/50.
