“Holtville Elementary is very grateful to Superintendent Dennis and the Elmore County Board of Education for approving the addition of the Holtville Child Development Center.  Investing in the child development center is not just an investment in infrastructure, it’s an investment in the future of our children.  With the increase in student enrollment at Holtville Elementary, this center will provide much needed support and resources for families and young children. The Holtville area continues to be a thriving area with student enrollment at HES having more than a 10% increase in the past 10 years. The opening of this center will provide much needed space for Holtville Elementary to accommodate increasing student enrollment,” said Principal Holley.

The child development center for the Holtville community started in 2007. It began with two classrooms and quickly grew from there. Now the new facility is home to eight classrooms and 120 children. There is a wait list through the 2026-2027 school year.

The event opened with prayer held by board member David Jones. There was a welcome and introduction by Superintendent Dennis and remarks from board Chair Michael Morgan and Child Development Director Terri Carrico.

“We are very excited to have the Child Development Center finally open in the Holtville community. Certainly the need for the facility has been there and now we’re able to fulfill that need with a great facility for our students and our teachers,” said Dennis.

The facility was designed by McKee and Associates, contracted by Pemberton Incorporated and the playground equipment from Strothers Recreation.
