Prattauga Art Guild to Hold Watercolor Class with Rick Robertson

FROM BARBARA SIMPSON

PRATTVILLE CULTURAL ARTS

The Prattauga Art Guild is excited to announce a watercolor workshop with award-winning artist Rick Robertson. The workshop will be held Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch.

We are very lucky to have Rick Robertson as the instructor for this workshop. Rick lives in Prattville, Alabama. He retired from teaching after 20 years and is currently a music minister at a local church. Rick has pursued watercolor painting for the last six years. He loves architecture and the light displayed on it, and is seeking a loose style of painting, more impressionistic than realistic.

Rick is a juried member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama, also a member of the Montgomery Art Guild and the Prattauga Art Guild.

This workshop is for artists with some experience in watercolor. It will focus on fundamentals of drawing for watercolor, creating thumbnails, painting techniques, working light to dark, and creating 3D in 2D space. There will be demonstrations by the instructor and work sessions. Students should bring their supplies and a supply list will be provided upon request.

The cost of this workshop is just $50 and proceeds go to the Prattauga Art Guild. This is a great price for such an in-depth workshop, particularly with an instructor of Robertson’s caliber. Space is very limited and reservations are required.
