Millbrook Fire Department requested mutual aid over the weekend from Coosada and Elmore fire departments after a fully-involved house fire in the Crossgates Subdivision off Hwy. 14. The call came in around 6:46 a.m. this morning. A home was fully involved at 138 Lake Bend Drive. We are not hearing of any injuries at this time, but the damage to the home was significant.
According to Millbrook Fire Marshal Doyle Campbell, his investigation shows the fire did not begin as a lightning strike, as earlier reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated, but it is suspicious, he said.
