Since the devastating tornado hit the state last week, there has been a tremendous outpouring of assistance to those who were impacted by the storm. In addition to county, state, and federal assistance, there is a nonprofit organization, Crisis Cleanup, joining in the effort.

According to the organization’s website, Crisis Cleanup is a collaborative disaster work order management platform that improves coordination, reduces duplication of efforts, improves efficiency, and improves volunteers’ experience.

“Residents can go on that site, they can put in their address, they can put in their contact information and what it is that they need,” Autauga County EMA Director Ernie Baggett, said. “Once they do that, that can be matched up with a team that can meet that need.”

The outpouring of support is coming from those who live both near and far, with various abilities. Crisis Cleanup aims to lend those volunteer’s capabilities to the storm victims who need them most.

“There are teams that can do a lot of things. We have a lot of people volunteering that have heavy equipment, but they need to know where to go and what is needed,” Baggett said.
