Autauga County public school students are set to return to regular classes Tuesday.

Autauga County School Supt. Tim Tidmore says it is hoped that by that time, bus schedules will be running as normal. There is still an area of concern in the hardest hit areas of Marbury, as many emergency and utility vehicles are still in place. Monday is the Martin Luther King Day holiday, and students will be out of school.

“Our transportation director rode the roadways yesterday and there is a good bit of the debris that has been cleared. We will look at that again tomorrow. We do not foresee any detours at this time, and we are not anticipating any major disruption for the bus routes,” Tidmore said. “But, if that changes, we will get that information out as soon as possible.”

Tidmore said that with the great loss of life and destruction, particularly in the Marbury community of Autauga County, extra support staff and counselors will be available for students and staff.
