Earlier this month, the Punishers LEMC Three Rivers Chapter hosted a poker run, ride, auction, raffle and Wes Jeans concert to help raise funds for the Millbrook Police Department Reserve Officer program.

The Punishers LEMC Three Rivers organization was able to give a $5,500 check to Police Chief P.K. Johnson and the funds will be used for equipment and/or training for the Reserve officers, all of which volunteer their time. They are also responsible for paying for the majority of their own equipment.

“We really appreciate our Reserve Officers, and they do a tremendous service for our department,” Chief Johnson said. “They do not get paid for any of this, but they come out and help our officers on patrol and during special events, or traffic control. I am very appreciative for their service, and I thank the Punishers for hosting this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who participated in any way.”

Multiple businesses helped with donations for the silent auction. Elmore County Commission Chairman Bart Mercer donated $2,000 for the fundraiser and the Elmore/Autauga News helped sponsor the concert. Businesses donating included Scott’s Auto, Tractor Supply, Garner Electric, Lucretia Cauthen Realty, Don Duncan, Powell’s Towing, Marvin’s, Habanero’s, JC Electric, Rawlinson Electric, Jenilyn’s Creations, Walmart, Custom Tactics, the Pines Golf Course and SEHS Mustang Quarterback Club.

“A huge thank you to everyone that came out to support this event,” Punishers LEMC Three Rivers President Johnny Stiles said.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said, “Thank you Punishers LEMC Three Rivers for your efforts in raising much needed funds for our Reserve Police Officer program, as well as your continued support of our department’s efforts in service to our community. You are part of our Blue Family and we appreciate you more than my words can express. Y’all are amazing!”

Tickets are still available for the Boston Butt Sale. Pickup is Dec. 30 at the Millbrook Memorial Center beginning from 8 to 10 a.m. The address is 3108 Park Circle in Millbrook, next to the Millbrook Civic Center.

With these funds from the fundraiser and the Butt Sale, the Reserve Program the program will be able outfit Reserve officers. Everything they wear and duty equipment comes out of their own pockets. This includes body armor, which can run around $1,000.
